Barnfield claims national longboard title

An Ohope surfer's taken out a national title.

Dylan Barnfield has won the Open Men's Division at the National Longboard Champs at Whangamata Beach.

Barnfield posted excellent early rides of 9.65 then 8.75 to put his opponents in trouble from the outset.

The 20-year-old says it's by far the biggest win of his career.
