Performances fine-tuned

Groups from two Eastern Bay schools are practicing hard for next week's National Secondary Kapa Haka Championships.

Both Opotiki College's Kura Ki Uta and Te Kaha-based Te Kapa Haka o Te Kura a Rohe o Te Whanau a Apanui are highly regarded on the national stage.

The groups have been fundraising for the biennial national competition, with Kura Ki Uta holding a weekend community thank you concert.

They'll be on stage in Whangarei this time next week, from quarter to eleven.

The team from Te Whanau a Apanui will have its chance to shine the following day, Wednesday at the same time.
