Guide dog puppies come to town

Two guide dog puppies are coming to Kawerau as part of a local fundraiser.

It's part of the Te Rex Kawerau Guide Dog Puppy Appeal, which will see a puppy named after retired Kawerau dog-ranger Rex McLeod.

The two puppies will visit a kohanga reo, a school and rest home on Thursday.

So far, fundraising efforts sit at $5800, with all $25,000 needed by May.
