No leads in hotel arson investigation

Police are still hoping for information from the public about a fire at a Kawerau Hotel.

A Police appeal for public assistance, has failed to shed more light on the robbery and arson attack at the Pinelands Hotel.

This month's incident also saw the hotel's owner, Dennis Angus, tied up and doused in petrol.

Shortly after, Police revealed they were looking for two men, and possibly a female, who may have been the getaway driver.

The men, dressed in black track pants and hoodies, robbed the store, taking spirits, and a sum of cash from the hotel safe.

The men wore red and black scarves over their faces.

Detective Senior Sergeant Ross Everest says members of the community have not been able to identify the alleged offenders.

He says Police are continuing their investigations.
