Police are speaking with two people who reportedly abducted three children in Opotiki.
The children had been in Child Youth and Family care when they were allegedly taken away by their parents.
The three children, whose ages and sexes aren't known, were apparently driven away by their father, at about 5pm yesterday.
It's not known where they were taken, but they were returned unharmed about two hours later.
Their mother stayed behind at the CYFs home.
The Opotiki family is known to police, and the father is described as aggresive.
Both parents have been interviewed overnight.
