Radiographers striking

X-rays, ultra-sounds and CT Scans are not available in the Bay of Plenty as Radiographers strike.

Failed pay negotiations have seen Whakatane and Tauranga staff walk off the job for 24 hours.

The Bay of Plenty District Health Board is advising patients they'll have to wait much longer for services than normal.

Mammograms, bone densitrometry and MRI scanning will not be affected by the strike and Eastbay Radiology advises it is open as normal.

Radiographers are expected to return to work tomorrow from 7am.

The pay issue prompting the action has been ongoing for 12 months.
