Bay of Plenty Civil Defence crews are lending their support to the Christchurch Quake recovery effort.
Eastern Bay Councils are still deciding whether to make a financial contribution to their Canterbury counterparts.
A Mayoral Fund has been set up in Christchurch to raise money to assist affected residents.
Bay of Plenty Civil Defence is already making a valuable contribution, in the form of a hazard control programme.
Regional Controller, Diane Turner says the computer database has already been sent to Canterbury.
She says the "needs assessment" has been created in response to this year's flooding emergencies in the Bay.
