An Eastern Bay high school's celebrating the success of one of its students.

Henare Ngatai's had his writing published in the college section of the New Zealand Herald.

The Opotiki College student has won a 100 dollar JB HiFi voucher.

He's also received a congratulatory letter from the editors of the College Herald, who said his piece had a potential audience of half a million people.

They've indicated Henare's is a great piece of writing, calling him a credit to both himself and Opotiki College.
