Eastern Bay Bunnings staff have their Christchurch colleagues front of mind, as they join earthquake fundraising efforts.
Sausage sizzles are being held at the Whakatane store today and tomorrow, to raise money for the Red Cross.
Bunnings staff at three Canterbury outlets have been caught up in the quake.
Lleyton Shearer from the Whakatane store says the local staff want to provide as much support as possible to their Canterbury colleagues.
He says the Shirley store had a lot of product thrown off the shelves, but all in all stayed pretty much intact.
Mr Shearer says the Riccarton store got hit a little harder, and had a lot of flooding in their parking lot.
He says some of the teams had trouble getting to and from work, but they're just getting out now and helping the community.
