Summer Social hockey is starting tomorrow (the 2nd of February) any teams interested please phone  027 4232 797 or email socialhockey@gmail.com .It is a 6 aside mixed & social lots of fun to be had half turf an 40 minute games or just come down for a look you might be surprised at how much fun it is .

 
Learn karate at Ohope Beach! Karate classes have started for 2012 and beginners are welcome to come and have a go. Age 10-18 years. Tuesday and Thursday from 7-8pm at Ohope Beach School. Adult classes starting soon. Call 312 5344 for more details.
 
On Sunday 5 February the Waikato Endurance Club has their annual endurance ride in Taneatua. If you’re new to endurance, bring your horse and have a go. It will be at the same base as last year on Fosters Road. Distances of 15km, 25km and 40km are being run. This is great early season training for hunters and a change of scene for horses in other disciplines. Call Daryl for more details on 07 308 0018 or check the website www.EnduranceWaikato.homestead.com

February is Bikewise Month, Gravity Sports will be holding mountain bike rides for all abilities every Thursday night starting 9 February meet at Waterhouse Street Reserve in Kawerau at 5pm – 6pm. The Paroa Annual Golf Tournament is on again on Saturday the 11th of February. There are two mens and ladies divisions and a non-handicap division (hackers) Prizegiving will be at Paroa Rugby and sports club which will commence at 4.30pm and a meal is also part of your registration. The Edgecumbe Pony club annual Gamblers stakes is now to be held on Saturday 11th February at Eivers farm on Tahuna Rd Te Teko. Discounted earlybird entries are open until the 6th February otherwise enter on the day before 9 am. The amended program and entry form are available at sportsground.co.nz/edgecumbepc. Opotiki Gymnastics Club enrolment class will be on Tues 14 February at 3.20pm, enrolment for Gym-fun classes will be taken and all fees are due in full on this day.  The AGM is set for Mon 27 February at 7pm at the Opotiki Gymnastics Club, Elliot St, Opotiki.  They are calling for nominations for the 2012 committee.
 
Bunnings Warehouse Whakatane is calling for local community groups, charities, sporting clubs and not for profit organisations to participate in the upcoming Community Fun Day on Saturday 10th March. The annual Community Fun Day event celebrates the groups that make a positive difference in the Whakatane area by allowing them to fundraise, interact and build profile in the local community. There will be a range of activities including DIY classes, balloon sculpting and sausage sizzles. The Rotary Club of Whakatane Charity Ball is being held on 24th March. Tickets are only $60 and tables of 10 are available. Call Deborah at Harcourts to reserve your ticket and table.
