The Eastern Bay's newest dive attraction is one step closer to becoming a reality.
The Bay Artificial Reef Charitable Trust have had an old trawler towed to a spot just off Whale Island, where with any luck it'll be sunk this weekend.
Trustee George Chambers says there are still a few bits and pieces to take care of before the sinking, though.
He says they're going to cut holes in the sides as there needs to be a nice, clean path for divers to go through the ship.
Vertical holes will also be cut to provide sufficient light.
Mr Chambers says if the weather holds out, she'll be sunk just after midday on Sunday.
