Edgecumbe aggravated robbery accused due in court

A third man allegedly involved in an Edgecumbe armed robbery, is expected to enter his plea.

Kawerau man Pehi Te Rangi has appeared in the Whakatane District Court twice since his arrest, but refused to enter a plea.

Acting lawyer for Te Rangi, Roger Gowing has told the court that Te Rangi is disputing facts in the police summary.

Te Rangi is jointly charged alongside Troy Wipaki and Thomas Campbell of aggravated robbery using a gun, and using a firearm against a Police Officer.

The charges relate to an aggravated robbery at Edgecumbe's Shell service station in January.

Te Rangi reappears in Whakatane District Court today.
