New EBOP councillor sworn in

A new regional councillor is about to be sworn in, to replace the late Hawea Vercoe.

Rotorua man Tai Eru will now cover the Okurei constituency.

He'll be sworn in at this morning's Environment Bay of Plenty council meeting.

He was announced as the replacement last month.

Mr Vercoe died after a violent incident last year outside a Whakatane Bar.
