Teens in Te Puke crash had been at party

It's been revealed students involved in a fatal Te Puke car crash, had been at an after ball-party prior to the accident.

The Sunday morning crash killed 18 year old Judas Ace Witeri.

He was a passenger in the vehicle, that hit a bridge, and flipped into a stream on Jellicoe Street, just after 8am.

Police are investigating the crash, but say alcohol and speed appear to be contributing factors.

They say the seven teens in the vehicle, had been at a Te Puke High School Ball after party, on Manoeka Road just before the crash.

Police are still awaiting blood test results from the driver.
