Ōpōtiki College to share in millions for youth employment
Ōpōtiki College is thrilled to receive what it calls a sizable amount from the Government towards programmes aimed at getting it's students into work.
The grant is one of four to Eastern Bay organisations announced on Friday by the Employment Minister Willie Jackson.
The money is part of the He Poutama Rangatahi programme which target regions with a high number of young people not earning or learning, and provides support for them and employers.
Ōpōtiki College will use it's funding to provide more tailored support for individual students.
Principal Susan Impey says it will allow them to provide a different approach to help students make pathways into the world of work and training.
