Police have had enough after 18 crashes on Eastern Bay roads

There have been 18 crashes on Eastern Bay roads over the last week.

And Police are labeling driver behaviour in the area as appalling.

In the latest crash a car crossed the centre line and ran into the trailer of a milk tanker and trailer unit yesterday.

The driver, who was returning from a music festival at The Mount has been processed for drink-driving,.

The Head of the Road Policing Unit Sergeant Ray Wylie says there have been a number of reasons for all the crashes including drivers failing to stop, drivers not watching ahead and distracted driving.

He says fortunately there have been no fatal accidents in the Eastern Bay so far these holidays.
