Te Puke residents asked to conserve water
Matata appears to be over the worst of its water shortage.
The Whakatane District council says it's a combination of residents using the town supply sparingly, and staff finding and fixing leaks.
Public affairs Adviser Alexandra Pickles says that's eased has eased the pressure on the system.
More water news this time a large leak is affecting water supply to Te Puke.
Western Bay of Plenty District Council is repairing the leak on a supply line in its Eastern Water Supply Zone.
The leak was discovered yesterday and loss of water from this leak has added to extremely high water consumption, due to the hot weather.
Residents are asked to conserve water use over the next 24 to 48 hours to allow the water supply to replenish.
