Bay of Plenty pie lovers reel over news of factory closure
A sour taste for anyone in the Eastern Bay that likes pies.
Maketu Pies has gone into receivership after 37 years in operation.
The family-owned company have been making pies since 1982.
The company's operations in Maketu, is the biggest source of employment in the town, with forty people employed.
It's unknown how the receivership will affect workers.
Robert and Karen Wilson as well as the JK Hamilton Trust own the company.
