Rangitaiki River Scheme Review a success

An independent review of the Rangitaiki River Scheme has resulted in improved safety and resilience of affected communities.

The message comes from Bay of Plenty Regional Council general manager of integrated catchments, Chris Ingle -- who has presented a report to council detailing the review's implementation.

He says a cross-organisational working group was formed to coordinate Council's response to the review's recommendations -- all of which have now been actioned.
