Drivers warned of summer ice on roads

Drivers could witness ice on Bay of Plenty roads over the next few weeks.

NZTA says despite summer being in full swing, the chance for 'summer ice' appearing on our roads could be likely.

Regional System Manager Rob Campbell says after an extended run of hot summer days, light doses of rain can create slippery road surfaces -- otherwise known as summer ice.

He says drivers should take care.
