Opotiki meeting addresses gang concerns
A community meeting addressing public concerns about gang presence in Opotiki is being hailed as a positive first step.
Facilitated by barrister Rebecca Plunket and chaired by Judge Louis Bidois, the meeting took place from one yesterday afternoon at the Opotiki Memorial Park Pavilion.
Mongrel Mob Barbarian leader Steven Taiatini also attended, to hear the communities concerns.
Opotiki local Cilla Raukawa was one of many who attended.
She says she's looking forward to the next steps, the answers provided and the action that will be taken following issues raised yesterday.
