Rainfall provides little reprieve for water conservation
Despite the rainfall overnight and in the forecast today, we are being encouraged to keep our water conservation efforts up.
The message comes from Whakatane District Council with Whakatane and Ohope residents encouraged to keep up the good work.
Water usage has reportedly been good over recent days -- well under 8,000 cubic metres a day on average.
Council Public Affairs Manager Ross Boreham says the forecasted rainfall should help to take some of the pressure off.
