Duck shooting on farmland a privilege - Fed Farmers
Duck shooters have been reminded that access to farms is a privilege.
About 40 thousand hunters will be out on the opening day of the duck shooting season tomorrow.
Federated Farmers reminds them that access to their shooting positions is often reliant on the goodwill of farmers.
Environment spokesman Chris Allen says farms are businesses, homes and places of recreation and hunters need to remember that.
He says while health and safety are the main consideration, hunters need to think about biosecurity..
Shooters need to be aware of new threats including mycoplasma bovis, when they're moving around.
