Secondary teachers announce further strike action
Secondary school teachers will begin the next wave of industrial action next week.
Hard on the heels of Wednesday's strike by primary and secondary teachers, the Post Primary Teachers Association has given schools notice of their next move.
The first stage is Rostering Home, which will involve different year students staying home one day of the week, starting with Year 9s on Tuesday, then years 10 to 12 on three of the next fourTuesdays.
And from June the 17th rolling regional strikes, will begin. In the Bay of Plenty secondary teachers will be on strike on Tuesday the 18th.
That rolling action will cover different regions of the country on different days all from the 17th to the 21st of June.
Secondary teachers indicated soon after Wednesday's strike that their next response to government inaction over their contract negotiations, would follow very soon.
