Bluelight seeking experienced drivers for training program
Blue Light in the Eastern Bay hopes experienced drivers will help with training up young people so they can get their drivers licence.
A briefing for navigators is being held in Whakatane tonight at the WACT building, with another to be held in Edgecumbe tomorrow.
Senior Constable Kevin Raynes says it's part of a national Blue Light campaign to help young people get their licence.
He says they're looking for people over the age of 25, with a full licence for at least two years and a clean driving record.
“Full training is available, we will get you up to speed with what’s required and assign you with a young person. We do all the work and you to all the driving.”
Another meeting will also be taking place at the Edgecumbe Bluelight building at 6pm on May 9th.
