Police seeking information on altercation in Whakatane
Police are now aware of all individuals involved in an altercation outside Whakatane Intermediate yesterday.
The school was placed into lockdown after two gangs got into the altercation outside the school on James Street at about 2.30pm.
In a statement Principal Mike Webster confirmed yesterday's events, but insists there was no danger to students or staff at any stage.
He says school has returned to normal today.
Meanwhile Acting Senior Sergeant Shane Tailby says police have gathered information on what happened.
