Eastern Bay loo makes finalist list

The toilets in Ohope called The Port Ohope Wharf Permaloo is a finalist for the Best Loo.

To be the finalist for the Best Loo it requires entrants to show sustainable and environmentally conscious behavior across four key areas. Litter prevention, community beautification, recycling projects, and sustainable tourism.

Council general manager for community services Mike Naude says he's excited about potentially winning best loo, and it shows the continuous improvements council has been making to public convenience facilities.

The judges of the award will now visit the toilets at Port Ohope to access it, and look at it's sustainability efforts.

A thirty second video will also be submitted summarising the toilets, and it's overall achievements.

The winner of Best Loo will be announced at the Beautiful Awards, on Thursday the 24th of October
