Enquiries being made on the back of Eastern Bay crashes
Questions are being asked after a string of car crashes in the Eastern Bay over the weekend.
Three road incidents have happened in under twenty four hours in the region.
The first resulted in a fatality when a car hit a pedestrian in Opotiki on Sunday morning.
The second crash was in Whakatane, and resulted in a car hitting a power pole, leaving residents without power for several hours.
The third crash happened yesterday afternoon when a car rolled over near Tanuatua, two people are recovering in Waikato Hospital.
These three car crashes come after two fatal crashes last week including four people in Kaingoroa, and one person dying in a crash in Matata.
People are being urged to drive to the conditions, and to be more aware of their speed.
