Road Re-Opened Following a Single Vehicle Crash on Thornton Road

A crash occurred on the stretch of road coming into Whakatāne between R n’ Bees Berry Farm and Extreme Boats.

Hato Hone St John were notified of the crash at 9:01 this morning.

One ambulance and rapid response unit attended.

Two patients, one in a moderate condition and one in a minor condition were transported to Whakatāne Hospital.

Police said they were notified of a single vehicle crash at 9am this morning.

The Whakatāne District Council said the road is now fully open again.

Reports from the scene were a single vehicle entered a ditch and the road was closed to one lane for an hour.
