Motorists and pedestrians using Hillcrest Road are being advised to plan ahead this Friday, with temporary road closures scheduled while overgrown vegetation is cleared and drainage issues are addressed.
The work will take place between 9.00am and 3.00pm, with different sections of Hillcrest Road closed at different times.
Traffic management will be in place, and road users should expect delays and allow extra travel time while the work is underway.
From 9.00am to 11.00am, Hillcrest Road will be closed in two sections: between George Street and Waiewe Street, and between Waiewe Street and the upper section of Seaview Road.
Waiewe Street residents will need to enter and exit via Seaview Road and Gorge/Ōhope Road.
From 11.00am until the works are complete at 3.00pm, Hillcrest Road will be closed between Toi Street and Wedgwood Place.
Residents on Hillcrest Road, Carling Road and Wedgwood Place will need to access their properties via Gorge/Ōhope Road.
Residents on Waiewe Street, Seaview Road, Hurinui Avenue, Hillcrest Road and Toi Street will need to use George Street for access.
Road users and pedestrians may experience delays while the work is completed.
Those travelling through the area are encouraged to check their route before leaving and allow additional time for their journey.
