The remaining overnight closures of State Highway 2 Pekatahi Bridge have been postponed following an issue with the equiptment needed to complete the work.
NZTA said the bridge will remain open, and motorists can use the route as normal.
"It remains safe for public use," the transport agency said.
New closure dates will be decided once arrangements for the work have been confirmed.
The bridge was originally scheduled to be closed overnight, for three nights, from Sunday, 23 August, for essential maintenance.
