Third Man Arrested & Charged With Murder Of Tristan Oakes In Te Puke

    Police have arrested and charged a third man in relation to the death of Tristan Oakes in Te Puke last month. 29-year-old Oakes died in hospital on October 25th, after being critically injured when shot at his Te Puke home. Police investigating the murder arrested a 24-year-old Te Puke man yesterday and charged him with murder.

    "This brings the total number of people charged with murder to three,"  Detective Senior Sergeant Natalie Flowerdew-Brown says.

    "In addition, Police have charged three further men, aged 29, 30, and 33, all from Te Puke, with burglary,"

    All six men were scheduled to appear in Tauranga District Court yesterday afternoon, Wednesday 12 November 2025.

    "Police would like to thank the community for their assistance and will continue to provide updates as the investigation progresses," Flowerdew-Brown says.
