It's smooth skies ahead for flight passengers heading between Whakatāne and Auckland.
Air Chathams have announced they will introduce the 34-seated Saab 340 airliner for their Whakatāne to Auckland route from November 20th.
The new aircraft will offer various benefits for passengers including greater legroom, an onboard cabin attendant, inflight service and toilet.
The Saab 340 airliner also offers a stand-up cabin and is recognised to be considerably more quiet than the current aircraft used on the Whakatāne to Auckland air service.
The change is a milestone for the airline who have have operated scheduled flights from Whakatāne to Auckland for more than 8 years.
Air Chathams notes, their overall seats available for sale to the public will increase slightly from the current offering, however their schedule has been adjusted to integrate with other scheduled air services on their network.
