Man In Custody After Vehicle Hits Pedestrian In Ōpōtiki

One person was taken into custody in Ōpōtiki on Friday night, after a crash where a vehicle collided with a pedestrian.


Police had been called to the incident at around 8pm off Elliot Street.

 

"The vehicle has subsequently caught fire." a Police spokesperson says.

 

"The pedestrian sustained minor injuries, and the driver was transported to hospital in a moderate to serious condition."

 

Police enquiries to determine what occurred are ongoing.
