Police have now confirmed that a person has died following a crash on Pukehina Beach Road, Pukehina on Sunday night.
Emergency services attended the crash involving a single vehicle reported shortly at around 9.20pm Sunday night.
"Sadly, one person died," a Police spokesperson says.
"Enquiries into the circumstances of the crash are ongoing."
