One person is in hospital in a serious condition following a two-vehicle crash on State Highway 30, Tikitere early this morning.
Emergency services were called to the two-vehicle collision involving a truck and car on SH30, Tikitere around 5.20am.
The crash forced the closure of State Highway 30, between SH34 (Rotoma) and SH33 (Tikitere) for several hours.
"Two patients were assessed on scene, and one was treated and transported to Rotorua Hospital in a serious condition," a St John spokesperson says.
"The other patient did not require hospital transportation,"
State Highway 30 later re-opened just before 10.30am.
