One Person is Critically Injured after Crash Near Papamoa Beach

One person is in critical condition after a crash on State Highway 2 near Papamoa Beach.
Emergency services were called to the scene on the Tauranga Eastern Link Toll Road around 9:50am following reports of a two-vehicle collision.
A St John spokesperson confirmed that one ambulance, a rapid response vehicle, a helicopter, and an operations manager attended the scene.
The road was partially blocked, and motorists were advised to avoid the area.
Two patients were assessed at the scene. One was in moderate condition but did not require transportation. The other was airlifted to Waikato Hospital in critical condition.
