Police Appeal For Information Following Fatal Tāneatua Crash

Police have now released the name of the person who died in the crash near Tāneatua on Tuesday night.

She was 44-year-old Ngahina Takarangi of Whakatane.

The single-vehicle crash on Tuesday evening saw a second person sustain serious injuries.

"The circumstances of the crash remain under investigation, and Police would like to speak to anybody who witnessed the crash, that happened at around 6pm," a Police spokesperson says.

"Additionally, we’d like to hear from anybody who saw a red Honda Accord travelling in and around Tāneatua between 5:30pm and 6pm on Tuesday 2 December,"

Police ask anyone with any information to contact them via 105, either over the phone or online and reference the file number 251202/5566.

Police have now named the person who died in the single-vehicle crash on Tuesday night and are appealing for any information as their investigation into the circumstances continues.
