Police are appealing to the public for information following a serious crash in Whakatāne on Friday afternoon.
The crash had occurred at the McGarvey Road and Peace Street intersection, outside the Peace Street Dairy just before 12.30pm.
One person was taken to hospital following the incident.
"Collision at intersection between two vehicles, a Blue Suzuki vehicle and Black Lexus vehicle," says Senior Sergeant Megan Te Aho.
"There were people at the corner dairy who may have witnessed the crash,"
"Looking for any witnesses, and especially a male witness who arrived at the dairy in a grey coloured Honda Odyssey." Te Aho says.
Anyone who was at the Peace Street Dairy at the time, are urged to contact Police on 105.
