Police Investigate Alleged Assaults At Tauranga Hospital

Police are now investigating two alleged assaults on staff at Tauranga Hospital last week.
Police received two reports, hours apart on Thursday, of a man acting aggressively toward hospital.
Officers responded immediately to both incidents.
"Prior to their arrival following the second call, the man has reportedly assaulted two staff members," Senior Sergeant Scott Merritt says.
"Police subsequently transported him to another ward for further treatment," Merritt says.
Police enquiries into the incident are ongoing.
