Police Locate Missing Man Safe and Well in Ōpōtiki

Police have located Stephen Young, a man reported missing by his family last week. The 67-year old was believed to have been in the Whakatāne or Bay of Plenty area.
Police say Stephen was located safe and well in Ōpōtiki.
Police had earlier confirmed a sighting of Stephen in a store in Thames, and said that they would like to thank the public for their assistance.
Senior Sergeant Cam MacKinnon says police receive a number of missing persons reports.
"Quite often there's some reasoning behind the reason that a person may not want to be found or has moved off their normal routine."
"It's not always suspicious, but we do treat them all with serious intent incase something unforseen has happened to the person.
"Good to see that we've found this gentleman, he's fine."
