Several people are in hospital following two separate crashes around the Eastern Bay over the weekend.
Four people were left injured when a vehicle crashed off the Waiotahe River Bridge, near Ōpōtiki on Saturday morning. Emergency services had responded to the crash on Waiotahe Valley Road at around 9.38am.
"Four people injured, two of whom were serious condition, one had moderate injuries, one had minor injuries," A Police spokesperson says.
One person is also in a critical condition following a crash in Galatea yesterday afternoon.
Police were called about 4.10pm to an incident on Galatea Road, involving a vehicle and a person.
"The person had been transported in critical condition.” a Police spokesperson says.
Police enquiries into the circumstances of both incidents are ongoing.
