Two Men Accused Of Jamaine Wharton Murder Sentenced In High Court

The pair accused of murdering Whakatāne man, Jamaine Wharton were sentenced in the Rotorua High Court last week.


Wharton died after being assaulted and stabbed at the Waiohau Rugby Club rooms during a 21st birthday party last year.


Stuff reports, 18 year old Kayleb Renata was found guilty of murder by a jury.


28-year old Roger Tutakangahau was found guilty of manslaughter.


Renata was sentenced to life with a minimum term of imprisonment of ten years.


Tutakangahau was sentenced to five years and six months’ imprisonment.
