NZTA said State Highway 35 between Pōtaka and Hicks Bay will be open 24/7 from next Monday.
From next week, State Highway 35 from Pōtaka to Hicks Bay will remain open overnight following overnight road closures since late April.
NZTA said the stretch of road around the Waikura slip site will remain single lane and under stop/go traffic management.
It said the closures were put in place after crews noticed new cracking on the side of the road at the slip site, after months of work to make the road safe.
Throughout May, crews have been installing steel columns on the exterior of the road as part of emergency stabilisation work.
In the coming months local contractors will continue work at the site.
Work will include installation of the final solution at the site - a 'hex-lock' wall.
NZTA said the wall will use interlocked modular hexagonal blocks to form a retaining structure, designed to stabilise the road and surrounding land.
"This staged approach ensures the long‑term repair is built on a stable foundation and provides a durable, permanent solution for the Waikura underslip."
The agency acknowledged the disruption the overnight closures have caused communities over time.
