Police said search teams have located a body in the search for a missing diver in Whakatāne.
Police said the body was located at around 9am near the Whakatāne River entrance.
The death will be referred to the Coroner.
Police said support is being provided to the diver's family.
It comes after a search for the diver was stood down overnight.
Emergency Services were called to the scene yesterday around 1:30pm.
Whakatāne Coastguard, Whakatāne Surf Lifesaving, assisted the search alongside the Police National Dive Squad.
