Police are appealing for information following the death of a woman in Kawerau over the weekend, with investigators seeking sightings of a silver Mitsubishi Lancer.
The woman was found dead at a Kawerau address on the morning of Sunday, 25 October.
Detective Senior Sergeant Lou Curragh said investigators were working hard to establish the circumstances surrounding the death and were urging anyone with relevant information to come forward.
Police are particularly interested in hearing from anyone who was in or around Valley Road between 8pm, October 24, and 7am, October 25.
Investigators are seeking information about any unusual or suspicious activity, including the movements of people and vehicles in the area during that time.
“Even if you thought nothing of it at the time, the information could be crucial to our investigation,” Curragh said.
Police are also appealing for sightings of a silver Mitsubishi Lancer, registration EQB394, between 6.30am and 9.15am on Sunday.
The vehicle may have been in Kawerau, Matatā or Te Puke during that period.
Police have thanked those who have already provided information and are encouraging anyone who has not yet spoken to investigators to get in touch, even if they believe their information may be insignificant.
Anyone with information, CCTV footage or dashcam footage that could assist the investigation is asked to contact Police via 105, or anonymously through Crime Stoppers on 0800 555 111.
Information should be provided under file number 261025/1492.
