NZTA said from this morning, Pōtaka to Hicks Bay will be fully open 24/7.
The section of road has been open from 7am to 7pm daily for a fortnight, and work during this period has mean the road is now safe for travel during the night as well.
Crews have been clearing material widen the road at Waikura slip, which saw part of the road fall away.

NZTA Incident Controller Richard Bayley said work included "putting more metal down on the ground and completing new drainage work, to keep water away from the road."
He advised those using the road during the night to take extra care and drive to conditions through the area, which include lower speed limits and traffic management.
Bayley acknowledged State Highway 35 is an important connection to Gisborne so work is continuing around the clock to reopen the road at all times from Hicks Bay to Te Araroa.
“Opening the road at night has been the goal, but it can only be done when the area is safe for everyone," he said.
